Yemen Monitor / Newsroom: The Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government said it had carried out a “qualitative military operation” to neutralize vital resources used by the Houthi group to support its war effort and strengthen its military capabilities. Coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki said in a statement late on Sunday that the operation was intended to deter Houthi attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, as well as threats to shipping lanes in the Red Sea. Al-Maliki said the Joint Forces Command would continue taking and implementing the necessary operational measures to deter what he described as the Houthis’ terrorist conduct and prevent the group from using vital resources. Meanwhile, Houthi-affiliated media reported that airstrikes had targeted two oil company facilities under the group’s control in the provinces of Hudaidah and Dhamar in recent hours. The reports said two airstrikes hit the oil company’s branch station in Bajil district, Hudaidah, while three others targeted the company’s station in Dhamar city.
