Yemen Monitor/ Aden/ Exclusive: The Political and Media Adviser to the Yemeni Prime Minister, Dr. Ali Al-Sarari, has called for a broad diplomatic push, including a request for an emergency session of the UN Security Council, to present information regarding the presence of experts from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Lebanon’s Hezbollah in Yemen, stressing that their numbers are far higher than recently disclosed. Speaking in an interview with Al-Hadath news channel, Al-Sarari said the information revealed by the Yemeni Ministry of Interior must be transformed into a political and diplomatic file presented to the international community, rather than being confined to media dissemination. He added that “information of such importance,” if not leveraged through organized political action, risks losing its value and impact over time, thereby depriving the Yemeni government of the opportunity to utilize it in its international engagements. In the interview monitored by Yemen Monitor, Al-Sarari proposed calling for an emergency UN Security Council session to present the revealed data and intelligence, emphasizing the necessity of providing additional details regarding the nature of the Iranian presence and the activities carried out by IRGC and Hezbollah operatives in Yemen. He asserted that the revealed information demonstrates, in his assessment, the Yemeni government’s ability to penetrate the Houthis security-wise and access vital intelligence, noting that this capability allows for obtaining more precise details regarding the activities of foreign elements inside Houthi-controlled areas. Regarding the number of IRGC and Hezbollah personnel currently in Yemen, Al-Sarari stated that the previously reported figure of 21 elements does not represent the total count, but rather covers a specific tier of high-ranking operatives tasked with command, control, and guidance functions. “The total number is far greater than this,” he added, pointing out that the presence of Iranian and Hezbollah personnel in Yemen is not limited to the names that were disclosed. Al-Sarari noted that a group of Hezbollah elements stationed at the Ali al-Tahir hills in Lebanon prior to their capture by Israeli forces were transferred to Yemen, explaining that this group represents just one batch of elements that arrived in the country. He indicated that high-level experts from the IRGC and Hezbollah are, according to his information, directly supervising missile assembly and launch operations, as well as drone assembly and operation. He added that these experts are also responsible for coordinating military operations, particularly naval engagements, arguing that recent confrontations in Yemen are directly linked to the command, direction, and oversight of this command-and-control team. Addressing the nature of the Iranian role, Al-Sarari said Tehran makes no secret of its support for the Houthi movement, noting that the presence of Iranian operatives, Hezbollah members, and other Iran-linked entities takes place under the banner of the “Unity of Fronts.” He explained that cooperation among these parties encompasses intelligence sharing, operational movements, and field presence, noting that this relationship has become well-known internationally. However, he stressed that the significance of the new information lies in providing specific details regarding the nature of that presence and its military roles, proving—in his view—that the concept of “Unity of Fronts” is not limited to political coordination or declared slogans. He stated that the information regarding the presence of IRGC and Hezbollah elements inside Yemen “should indeed serve as evidence of what Iran means by the Unity of Fronts,” explaining that it exposes, in his opinion, an actual presence and field operation in which components of the so-called “Axis of Resistance” participate. The adviser to the Yemeni Prime Minister reiterated the necessity of opening this file extensively before the international community and capitalizing on the disclosed information to clarify the nature of Iranian intervention and the operational roles played by Tehran-linked entities in military operations inside Yemen.
