Yemeni Army Forces Advance in Northern Governorate of Al-Jawf
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom: Yemeni government forces achieved new field gains on Sunday in the northeastern governorate of Al-Jawf. Military sources from the 1st Division of the Yemeni Emergency Forces reported that army troops liberated strategic positions east of Al-Jawf and breached Houthi defense lines in a fresh push across active battlefronts. The battlefield advance follows the army’s capture two days prior of the Huwaishiyan mountain range, located east of the Al-Labnat military camp, as troops attempt to press toward the governorate’s capital, Al-Hazm, from multiple axes. The developments coincide with a presidential decree issued yesterday appointing Maj. Gen. Amin Al-Ukimi as Governor of Al-Jawf, replacing Hussein Al-Awadhi, who was reassigned as Governor of Al-Bayda. Al-Ukimi commands significant tribal and popular support across Al-Jawf.
