Houthis Fail in Attempt to Recapture Huwaishiyan Mountains in al-Jawf

Yemen Monitor | Newsroom: Yemeni government forces repelled an attack by Houthi fighters early on Sunday in the Huwaishiyan Mountains in al-Jawf governorate, military sources said. The First Emergency Brigade’s media centre said the Houthis launched an assault on government positions in the mountains in an attempt to regain control of the area after being driven out a day earlier. Government forces succeeded in repelling the attack, inflicting casualties and material losses on the Houthis, while destroying and setting fire to several military vehicles and weapons, the media centre said. A video released by the center showed drone strikes targeting Houthi fighters and military vehicles on the front lines. Government forces had taken control of the mountains, located east of al-Hazm district, following an assault on Houthi positions on Saturday.
